ERCOT market
Frisco has grown fast, with many recently built neighborhoods spread across Collin and Denton counties. Most of the city is in Oncor territory and offers retail choice, but because the city crosses a county line and includes newer developments, we always confirm your utility by address or ZIP. New-construction buyers have a specific to-do list: pick a provider before closing, schedule the start date, and check that the meter is set. Our advisors can walk you through the choices.

FAQ
Much of Frisco is served by Oncor. A few areas may differ, so we confirm by ZIP or address.
Ideally before closing. Choose a provider and set a start date for when you take possession. Your builder or title company may also have guidance.
Where your address is on a competitive delivery utility, yes. We check this for you first.
You usually choose your own retail provider. The delivery utility is fixed by your location.
Your delivery utility, which for most of the city is Oncor.
A TDSP (Transmission and Distribution Service Provider) is the regulated utility that owns the poles, wires and meters, reads your meter and restores power after an outage. It does not sell you an electricity plan and its delivery charges are the same whichever retail provider you choose. Your TDSP depends on your service address — in some areas more than one utility serves the same city — so confirm it by ZIP code or call us for a free check.
A retail electric provider (REP) is the licensed company that sells you the electricity itself: it sets the rate per kWh, the contract term and the fees on your plan, and it bills you. In the ERCOT market you can shop and switch between REPs freely, while your TDSP keeps delivering the power, so switching never means new wires, a new meter or a service interruption.
